This is one hell of a year for games, and with E3 less than a week away, we thought it only fair that like every other gaming site in the Virtualverse we post a list of our most eagerly awaited games. Our decision on what games and where to rank them reflects absolutely nothing to do with cross platform market penetration or potential sales. As far as we're concerned, gamers don't give a rats about these things. We're gamers and we simply want to play the best, most exciting and highly addictive games that are around. Our ranking system therefore is based upon one thing: which games are most likely to suck away our sleep time and turn us pale. Here goes (and before you comment, yes, Resident Evil 5 and Killzone 2 - and others - are looking like great games, but if they're not shipping until 2009, they're not in this list).

	1. Far Cry 2 Available on: PC, Xbox 360, PS3 Release Date: Late 2008 Publisher: Ubisoft Sequel to Far Cry but offering a completely new storyline. 	2. Left 4 Dead Available on: PC, Xbox360 Release Date: Late 2008 Publisher: Valve Software "The most intense co-operative action experience ever created." That's what Valve are calling it. That's all we need to know. Official website: http://www.l4d.com/ WATCH TRAILER

Fallout 3 Available on: PC, Xbox 360, PS3 Release Date: Late 2008 Publisher: Bethesda Softworks A post apocalyptic role playing sequel to Fallout billed as something like a cross between Oblivion and Fallout. 	4. Crysis: Warhead Available on: PC Release Date: Late 2008 Publisher: Electronic Arts Crysis but with less strategy and far more action? If we get the best bits of Crysis but in one whole game, that's enough to say yep, bring it on. Official website: http://www.crysis-thegame.com/ WATCH TRAILER
	5. Gears of War 2 Available on: Xbox 360 Publisher: Microsoft Release Date: 11/2008 Sequel to the groundbreaking hit Gears of War, and with Epic behind the chainsaw action once again, this one comes with high expectations. Official website: http://gearsofwar.com WATCH TRAILER
	6. Rise of the Argonauts Available on: Xbox 360, PS3 Publisher: Codemasters Release Date: 09/2008 For those who grew up on Jason and the Argonauts, this is nostalgia central. 	8. Resistance 2: The Fall of Man Available on: PS3 Publisher: Sony Release Date: Late 2008 Insomniac Games, the developer of this game, may very well be delivering a sci fi fans heaven. Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe Available on: Xbox 360, PS3 Publisher: Midway Release Date: Late 2008 Yep, Mortal Kombat merged with the DC Universe. 3D fighting with a crossover flavor and a unique comic storyline. 	11. LittleBigPlanet Available on: PS3 Publisher: Sony Release Date: 10/2008 Emotions, fun, non violence, happy music. All the enemies of the average game these days, yet this is going to be huge, no question. Even our FPS die hards are gonna fight for a controller... Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Available on: Xbox 360, PS3,Wii,PS2,PSP,NDS...you name it Publisher: LucasArts Release Date: 09/2008 Incredible visuals and interactivity with using the force and lightsabre amongst others. 	14. Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3 Available on: PC, Xbox 360, PS3 Publisher: Electronic Arts Release Date: Late 2008 This one looks detailed and the franchise has a big following. Prince of Persia Available on: PC, Xbox 360, PS3,NDS Release Date: Late 2008 Publisher: Ubisoft This one has us impressed with it's visuals and, well, the team behind it makes us take notice so we're keen for a look. Stalker: Clear Sky Available on: PC Publisher: Deep Silver Release Date: 08/2008 Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl was good, but we haven't included it too high as we're not sure the other FPS's will leave us too much time to play it...but we'll see...
